Beauti Sensational Amrita Rao

Amrita Rao (born June 17, 1981) is an Indian model and Bollywood actress.
Beginning her career as a model, Rao made her acting debut with Ab Ke Baras (2002), which went unnoticed. However, she grew into prominence when she starred in Ken Ghosh's love-story, Ishq Vishk (2003) and earned her first Filmfare nomination in the Best Female Debut category. Delivering acclaimed performances and commercial success with films like Main Hoon Na (2004) and Vivah (2006), her biggest commercial success so far, she has established herself as one of the most promising actresses of Bollywood. Amrita never really dreamed to be an actress because she thought that with no contacts in the film industry, it would be a tough battle to establish herself there. But not only has she made it to Bollywood, she is widely considered as the next big thing. Even though she has just acted in ten films so far, one of them is from Sooraj Barjatya. Her beauty bowled over acclaimed international painter M.F Husain and inspired him to make a series of paintings depicting her and her film "Vivah".
It all started when, while studying psychology at the Sophia College in Mumbai, she auditioned for "Fairever Cream" and to her surprise, got selected from among 60 other contestants. The close-up Ad campaign followed and it became a big success, granting her loads of offers. Within a year, she became one of the most sought-after models in India. Her Cadbury's Perk and Nestle Bru Coffee advertisements fetched her offers from top directors, but she was apprehensive at first, as she wanted to complete her studies.

By Amrita Roa about Herself
Memorable moments: The day my first film Ishq Vishk released. It took a bumper opening and I went to the theatres with Shahid Kapoor and Ken Ghosh. The audience response was so positive and overwhelming, it was unforgettable.
Philosophy of life: Life is short and sweet, so make others happy and never let anyone down.
Secret ambition: I've led such a protected life that a holiday in Venice on my own would be fun.
On a blind date I'd go out with:Brad Pitt. Please Jennifer Aniston, may I?
If i were a burglar I'd steal: the hearts of my audiece.
I'd like to be reborn as: A social worker. I would like to do something for mentally challenged individuals. Maybe I will do so in this life itself.
Allergies: Snobbish people
Favourite drink: Nariyal Paani
What I am terrified of: doing a bad job in a film and letting my fans down.
Favourite Book: Chitra Bannerfi's Arranged Marriage
One role I'd give my left arm for: I would not name a role that has already been done by someone. I want to do a role that others would give their left arm for!
