Amisha Patel






Personal Life
Amisha Patel (born June 9, 1976, also known as Ameesha Patel) is an Indian Bollywood actress. Making her acting debut in the blockbuster Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000), Patel won critical praise for her performance in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), which became one of the biggest hits in the history of Hindi cinema. She would subsequently star in a number of films, most of which proved unsuccessful at the box office. However, her performance in the 2006 film Ankahee, received critical recognition, and she followed it with a supporting role in the hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007).
Early life and family
Amisha Patel is the daughter of Amit Patel and Asha Patel, sister of Ashmit Patel and the granddaughter of the famous lawyer-politician Barrister Rajni Patel who was the Congress Pradesh Committee President of Bombay. She was born in the Breach Candy Hospital in Bombay and is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer since the age of five. Her name is a blend of the first three letters of her father’s name Amit and the last three letters of her mother’s name Asha.
She studied at the Cathedral and John Connon High School in Bombay and was head girl for the academic year 1992-1993 before heading overseas to study economics at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts.
After she graduated, she modeled for several products and then worked at Morgan Stanley. After returning to India she joined Satyadev Dubey's theatre group and acted in plays, upon receiving permission from her conservative parents.
Acting career
Patel as the muslim girl Sakeena in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), her biggest commercial success which earned the actress her first nomination for Filmfare Best Actress Award.
Her father's schoolmate, Rakesh Roshan, offered her a position in the film Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000) and Amisha grabbed the opportunity. The role of an exuberant college girl in love, undergoing a tortuous time at losing her lover and rediscovering a more mature relationship gave Patel scope to perform. The film was a smashing success and established Patel as a rising star, earning her awards for Best Debut at a number of award ceremonies. In her second film, the Telugu language drama Badri, she starred opposite Pawan Kalyan. The film was a major success, grossing more than Rs 120 million in India.

Genelia D'Souza

Genelia D'Souza was born in Mumbai, where she grew up. Her family hails from the Mangalorean Catholic community, a prominent Christian community in Bombay. Genelia got her name from her parents Jeaneate and Neil and her pet name is Geenu. D'Souza studied at the Apostolic Carmel High School in Bandra, Mumbai. She joined St. Andrews College, Bandra to pursue her Bachelor's Degree of Management Studies.
Other than doing films, she was also a state level athlete and a national level soccer player.
Career
D'Souza made her debut in Bollywood in 2003. Her first Hindi film was Tujhe Meri Kasam opposite Ritesh Deshmukh. She left Bollywood for a while to concentrate on the Tollywood Telugu industry.
She first hit the lime-light with a Parker Pen commercial with Amitabh Bachchan and further did a Fair and Lovely ad with Krishnamachari Srikkanth. The Tamil director, Shankar, was very much impressed with her performance in both the ads and cast her in a leading role in his Tamil version of Boys in 2003. She was 19 years old while doing the movie Boys, she said on a Tamil interview. The film was a box-office hit and launched her career in south India.
She once again appeared in Bollywood in Mere Baap Pehle Aap alongside Akshaye Khanna, which was moderately successful. Her final breakthrough in Bollywood was through the blockbuster, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, where she is the heroine in the role of Aditi Mahant aka "Meow". Her role has been widely admired for her sweetness and freshness, and new style of acting. The movie has debutant Imran Khan, Aamir Khan's nephew, as the hero. The movie released in July 4, 2008 and was a success across India and overseas. Her career in South India also continues with her latest Telugu Film Ready becoming a major box office hit. Her next film It's My Life, which is again a remake of Bomarillu with Harman Baweja is to be released in 2009. She will also act in David Dhawan's next film which is called Hook Ya Crook opposite John Abraham and Uday Chopra for the first time which is a cricket film, the film will be released in 2009. She also has the other film on her hand which is to released by mid of 2009 which is titled Life Partner with Tusshar Kapoor

Dia Mirza , nicknamed Dee, (born December 9, 1981) is a former Indian model and actress who appears in Bollywood films. She was Miss Asia Pacific for the year 2000 and was also second runner up in the Femina Miss India 2000 beauty pageant.
Personal life
She was born in Hyderabad, India. Her father, Frank Handrich, was a German interior designer from Munich and her mother is Deepa, a Bengali Indian. They separated when she was six years old. Her father died when she was nine and her mother remarried Ahmed Mirza who died in 2004. She retained a Muslim surname (Mirza) from her stepfather, though she herself is a Hindu . Later she adopted the last name of her father and became Dia Handrich.
She stated that she suffered from "low self-esteem" as a child. When living in Khairatabad, Hyderabad, she attended Vidyaranya High School For Boys And Girls, a school based on the teachings of Jiddu Krishnamurti, and later Nasr School, in Kushnuma.
Currently, she lives in Bandra, Mumbai. To brush up on acting before Shootout at Lokhandwala, she took a one week course of Film at New York University
Mirza was previously dating Endorsement Manager Bunty Sachdev (also known as Amit Sajdeh), after that she was linked with Actor Kunal Kapoor and then with Director Apoorva Lakhia, which also broke up two years back.

Film career
She made her cinematic debut with Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein opposite R. Madhavan. The film was not a box office success. A series of unsuccessful films followed, among them Tumsa Nahin Dekha and Deewaanapan.
In 2005, Mirza appeared in Parineeta, a Vidhu Vinod Chopra production. She also played in the music video Kajara Mohabbat Wala alongside Sonu Nigam from the album Kajara Nite. The album contained multiple remixes, but was mainly advertised with the title song, sang by Sonu Nigam and Alisha Chinai. She was tagged as a look-alike of Aishwaraya Rai.
Career
Dia wanted to complete her graduation in Arts by correspondence, but decided to postpone it as it was becoming difficult to juggle between the Miss Asia Pacific Competition, modeling assignments, traveling and training. She was assisted by Sabira Merchant on diction and etiquette; diet with Anjali Mukherjee; gymnasium and physical fitness with Talwalkars; clothes from Ritu Kumar and Hemant Trivedi; skin care with Dr. Jamuna Pai; and make-up and hair-care from Bharat and Doris Godambe. Sonam Kapoor
Kapoor is the daughter of Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor and niece of producer Boney Kapoor, actor Sanjay Kapoor and Sandeep Marwah. She is the eldest of three children; the others are sister Rhea and brother Harshvardhan.
Kapoor studied at University of East London and then enrolled in the United World College of South East Asia to do her International Baccalaureate. She later graduated from the University of Mumbai with Political Science and Economics as her majors. She is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi. She has received training in classical and Latin dance forms.
Career
Before starting her career off as an actress, Kapoor worked as an assistant under Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and assisted him during the making of his film, Black (2005). She made her debut alongside newcomer Ranbir Kapoor in Bhansali's Saawariya (2007), which failed to do well at the box office. Her performance was opened to good response by most critics. As of August 2008, Kapoor has completed filming for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi-6, which will release on February 20, 2009.

(born October 26, 1985) is an award-winning Indian film actress from the state of Kerala. Currently , she is considered to be one of the most popular actresses in the South Indian film industry.
Making her acting debut in Sathyan Anthikkad's Narendra Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001), Asin had her first commercial success with Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi in 2003, and won a Filmfare Award for the Best Telugu Actress for the film.
After a number of critically and commercially successful films, she received her second South Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance in her second Tamil film, Ghajini (2005). She played the lead female roles in two consecutive top grossers, Ghajini (2005) which is her biggest commercial success to date, and the action comedy Varalaru (2006) and this way has established herself as one of the most prominent leading actresses of South Indian cinema. More recently, Asin made her début in Bollywood, with Ghajini, the remake of its Tamil namesak
Asin was born into a Syrian Christian family from Ernakulam in Kochi district, Kerala. Her father, Joseph Thotumkal, managed several businesses and was considered a prominent entrepreneur before he stopped managing his businesses and decided to manage his daughter's acting career instead. Furthermore Asin's father accompanies her to all her foreign shoots. Her mother, Seline Thottumkal, remains a surgeon despite moving settlements from Cochin to Chennai to Mumbai to live with her daughter. Asin has quoted that her name "means without blemish and pure". She claims that "the 'A' in [her] name is from Sanskrit and word ‘Sin’ from English". She also mentions that she "has not come across anyone with same name."
Asin appeared in her first dual role in K. S. Ravikumar's magnum opus Dasavathaaram opposite Kamal Haasan, who portrayed ten roles. She looks fresh and photogenic and acts her part brilliantly", giving Asin's performance a positive outlook. The only other project Asin is commiitted to, as of 2009, is Vipul Shah's London Dreams alongside Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan, in which she plays a member of a five-troupe band.

Priyanka Chopra was born on 18th July 1982, in Jamshedpur, India, to Capt. Dr. Ashok Chopra and Dr. Madhu Chopra. Her father was a surgeon in the Indian Army Medical Corps. She has a younger brother, Sidharth.
Her schooling was in Lucknow and the institutions that she studied were La Martinière Girls College in Lucknow, Maria Goretti College in Bareilly and completed studies in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. She wanted to be a Software Engineer or a Criminal Psychologist.
Priyanka is a good singer and occasionally writes poetry and short stories. She didn't had much aspiration for modeling or ever dreamed of competing in beauty contests, but her parents, without Priyanka's knowledge, sent photos of her to the Femina Miss India pageant. On competing, Priyanka won the Femina Miss India-World title and an opportunity to represent her country for the Miss World competition.
Miss World
Chopra was crowned Miss India World and later Miss World in 2000. In the same year, Lara Dutta and Dia Mirza, both also from India, won the Miss Universe and Miss Asia Pacific crowns, in a rare triple victory for one country.
When Chopra won the Miss World crown, she became the fifth Indian woman to win the title, and the fourth Indian woman to win in a span of seven years.
In the Miss World competition, the judges were so impressed by Priyanka Chopra's performance that they omitted the mistake that she made during the last round and she was adjudged winner of the Miss World 2000 title. She was asked which living woman she admires most, in the finals, and Priyanka replied "Mother Theresa", but at that time Mother Theresa had deceased. But that was the only mistake she made throughout the tough competition.
